Stop treating a read alert as completed work
Choose what reaches one person before the shift gets noisy
Maya enables notifications, chooses Both for in-app and email delivery, and keeps sound limited to urgent work. Topic switches stay independent, while Announcements remain visibly always on.
Each member owns one global delivery choice and the topics available to their app and receive permissions. Browser sound is a separate local preference, so a quiet workstation does not silently turn off email.

Put information and action-required work in different places
The notification center separates Action Required, My actions, Informational Updates, and Resolved. One urgent cancellation group shows six open requests and the split between unassigned work, Maya's work, and work owned by someone else.
Open the group and the six requests remain six inspectable records across Ready to take, In progress, and Snoozed. Claim next and Claim all unassigned make ownership explicit instead of relying on whoever happened to read the alert first.

Reading is personal. Resolution is shared
Maya can read her own delivery without changing the shared work. She claims and resolves FO-10482 inside the expanded cancellation group, reducing its open requests from six to five while the parent notification stays in Action Required.
The completed child item remains visible inside its group, but the Resolved view does not gain that parent notification until every child request closes. Owned work can also be snoozed into one of six preset windows, then returns to the same shared queue.

Shared action state
FO-10482 is resolved inside the group.
The child item is complete for the team, but the parent notification stays in Action Required while five requests remain open. It moves to Resolved only when all child work closes.
Operators can snooze an owned item for any of 6 preset windows, then return it to the same shared queue.
Keep delivery personal and operational follow-up accountable
The gain is not more alert volume. It is a personal preference boundary, a notification center that separates information from work, and shared action lanes that show what is still open, who owns it, and what has already been resolved.
